Understanding homeopathy
Medicine for the whole person
Homeopathy is a gentle, natural system of medicine that has been used for over 200 years to support the body's own healing capacity.
What is homeopathy?
A different way of thinking about health
Homeopathy is a system of natural medicine developed in the late 18th century by German physician Samuel Hahnemann. It is based on the principle that 'like cures like' — that a substance capable of producing symptoms in a healthy person can, in a highly diluted form, stimulate healing in someone experiencing those same symptoms.
Unlike conventional medicine, which typically targets specific symptoms or disease processes, homeopathy treats the whole person. A homeopath considers not just your physical symptoms, but your emotional state, your energy levels, your sleep, your relationships, and the unique way your body expresses imbalance. The goal is to find a single remedy that matches your complete picture — and in doing so, to support a deep and lasting return to health.
How homeopathy works
The initial consultation
Your first appointment is a detailed, unhurried conversation — typically 60 to 90 minutes. I will ask about your presenting concerns, your health history, your lifestyle, your emotional world, and the finer details of how your symptoms behave. This depth of inquiry is what allows me to find the remedy that truly fits you.
Remedy selection
After your consultation, I carefully analyse everything you have shared and select a homeopathic remedy matched to your unique constitutional picture. Remedies are prepared from natural substances — plant, mineral, or animal — and are prescribed in highly diluted, energised forms.
Your response
Homeopathic healing is often gradual and layered. You may notice shifts in your energy, sleep, or mood before physical symptoms improve. This is a positive sign — the remedy is working at a deep level. Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment as needed.
Safety & suitability
Homeopathic remedies are highly diluted and are considered safe for people of all ages — including babies, children, pregnant women, and the elderly. They do not interact with pharmaceutical medications and carry no known side effects. Homeopathy is used as a complement to conventional medical care, not a replacement for it. If you are under medical supervision, please continue to follow your doctor's advice.
